WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:
Hybrid: This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office depending on business demands.
Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 25% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Sr. Product Manager, Mobile – Acquisitions, reporting to the Director, Product Management – Mobile, works closely with a wide range of internal teams to deliver impactful solutions that convert interest into adoption, and adoption into empowerment. Along with the other members of the Mobile Product team, this role is responsible for leading the strategy and execution behind Tandem’s apps that control the automated insulin delivery solutions. Additionally, the Sr. Product Manager, Mobile - Acquisitions defines and delivers the end-to-end acquisition experience from app discovery and pump simulation modes to account creation, onboarding, in-app training, new feature discovery and renewals. The core mission of this role is to make starting with Tandem effortless, inclusive, and confidence-building. As the acquisition product lead, this role brings deep expertise in consumer and patient-facing digital product strategy – from discovery through onboarding and first-time user experiences while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver a seamless and clinically safe experience.
The Sr. Product Manager, Mobile Acquisitions at Tandem are also responsible for:
- Own and evolve the mobile acquisition journey: account creation, onboarding and simulation experiences, initial product discovery, new feature discovery, conversion and retention.
- Define and execute the roadmap for acquisition-related features and experiences across iOS and Android platforms, supporting both current and upcoming app offerings.
- Define KPIs and dashboards to track success metrics such as app download-to-activation rates, onboarding completion, and early engagement milestones.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, other legal and Regulatory requirements.
- Skilled in defining customer journeys, onboarding strategies, and feature education across consumer-facing mobile apps, ideally including medical class (regulated) apps.
- Highly proficient in using product development tools, such as Jira, Jama, Confluence, roadmap management tools, to drive clarity and momentum across cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable producing clear, effective documentation, user stories, and presentations for audiences ranging from engineers to clinical, executive, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Adept at collaborating with UX, design, research, content strategy, engineering, regulatory, and clinical teams in order to ship elegant and effective solutions.
- Deep empathy for users navigating chronic health conditions or complex systems.
- Natural collaborator and communicator; effective in both strategic planning and tactical execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, proactively seeking ways to reduce barriers, validate hypotheses, and accelerate user success.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 7 plus years’ product management experience in consumer mobile applications.
- Demonstrated success in leading mobile onboarding, sign-up, or acquisition strategies from concept through launch and iteration.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted onboarding or digital coaching tools is a plus.
