THE ACCOUNTING INTERN POSITIONCandidate will be exposed to various accounting areas and assisting in month-end close and other analyses as deemed necessary by management. This position will report to the VP, Accounting.
ACCOUNTING INTERN RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in month-end close, preparing journal entries and schedulesPrepare monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliationsPrepare monthly expense analyses for accruals and trackingProcess customer receivables Prepare supporting schedules for financial statementsPrepare elimination and consolidation entriesAdditional duties as required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSCandidate for bachelor’s degree in accounting (junior, seniors, graduate students)Introductory knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingFamiliarity with Excel and WordAbility to analyze and interpret dataAbility to manage multiple tasks while working under time constraints Additional knowledge, skills and abilities· Strong verbal and written communication skills Working conditionsOpen-office environment Physical requirementsExtended period of time working at a computer workstation LOCATION: Houston, TX, open office environmentAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.If you are selected for a position, your employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a post-offer/pre-placement drug test (and medical examination if required by the role) as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
