About Alumni Ventures

Alumni Ventures (AV) has over 10,000 investors who have invested over $1.3 billion in our venture capital funds. We are looking for a senior software engineer that finds the venture capital industry fascinating and even one day might want to do their own startup. But before you do that startup, you will help to build internal tools that turbocharge our marketing & sales organization and also help our investment teams make great investments. Many of these tools will have some element of AI involved.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in our new Andover, MA office. We are a Mac/Linux dev shop.

What You'll Do:

• Write maintainable and well-documented code
• Architect new applications using Python and perhaps some javascript client work
• Learn our business so that you participate in the design and plans of new projects
• Solve complex problems with effective, simple solutions
• Develop unit tests to ensure application quality
• Collaborate with designers, developers and project management to ensure the timely delivery of software features

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
• Coding Language: Python
• 2+ years as a software engineer (full stack preferred)
• Hybrid work environment with 3 days in office and 2 days remote

Nice to have:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science
• Experience using the latest AI tools to help with your coding
• Relational DB experience. MySQL or Postgres preferred
• Relevant experience in the financial / investment industry
• Experience using the APIs of HubSpot and NetSuite

Base Salary: $140,000-$180,000 plus equity and corporate bonus
