About the role

Description

OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for maintaining safe and accessible winter roadways and trail systems throughout the ranch, while also assisting with general maintenance of ranch buildings, equipment, and property. The role supports guest satisfaction and operational efficiency by ensuring all areas remain functional and well-kept during winter conditions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plow Operations:

· Perform snow plowing and removal on all ranch roads, parking areas, and designated access points.

· Operate snowmobiles and grooming equipment to maintain winter trail systems for guest and operational use.

· Plow and maintain ice surfaces (pond) and operate Zamboni as needed for winter recreation activities.

· Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on plow trucks, snowmobiles, and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

· Complete all plowing and grooming tasks in a timely manner, adhering to safety and operational standards.

· Follow established field safety protocols to protect self, guests, and team members.


Maintenance Support:

· Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns related to property maintenance, ensuring a positive guest experience.

· Assist with routine and emergency maintenance of ranch buildings, utilities, and equipment.

· Support other ranch departments as needed, including land management and seasonal projects.

· Maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas in clean and safe condition.

· Comply with all team member handbook guidelines and safety procedures.


NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform other related duties as assigned to support ranch operations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.

· Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 lbs and walk long distances across varied terrain.

· Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and equipment, including:

o Plow trucks

o Tractors

o Skid steers

o Excavators

o Side-by-sides

o Front-end loaders

· Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in changing weather conditions.

· Commitment to safety and guest service standards.

· Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

· Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs.

· Experience in snow removal operations and/or ranch maintenance.

· Familiarity with hospitality environments and guest interaction.


WORKING CONDITIONS

· Employee will work indoors and outdoors.

· Required to talk and listen, sit, stand, and use hands.

· The employee is required to walk, reach with hands, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

· Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally to lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
