Examples of duties
This role provides essential clerical support that helps keep LIHEAP services running smoothly for households in need of heating assistance. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Scanning and Imaging: Scan documents, categorize electronic images, and prepare them for proper attachment and notification
- Data Entry: Enter information from forms into CIS, Mapper, and other automated systems
- Information Inquiry: Access automated systems to obtain needed information for program operations
- Word Processing: Prepare letters, forms, reports, and envelopes
- Record Filing: File documents, maintain case records, and purge records according to retention schedules
- Visitor Reception: Greet visitors, determine their needs, and provide accurate information or referrals

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.
- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Johnstown, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.83 (before taxes).

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
