Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to be based in Murray, UT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a technical specialist for the office in the application of transit, transportation and environmental planning
  • Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating complex assignments
  • Ability to manage tasks and/or project management
  • Local client relationships and understanding of local markets
  • Managing and preparing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or transportation planning documents
  • Performing/overseeing environmental technical studies and transportation planning report preparation
  • Facilitating public and agency outreach
  • Working with an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists and managing their project-delivery efforts
  • Assisting with proposals and business development
  • Provide oversight and guidance to junior staff

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Environmental Sciences, Planning, Geography, or related fields + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters preferred in Urban Planning, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Sciences,  Economics, or related fields
  • Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with environmental review and compliance requirements in Utah
  • Experience in project management and NEPA compliance
  • Experience with State and local transportation agencies, and their environmental policies and practices are preferred
  • Local client relationships

  • Offered rate of compensation (Utah locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $92869.86 - $171809.24.
