In order to meet the Basic Qualification Requirements for a Nurse (Research Specialist), GS-0610, you must have: Have a graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. OR Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools; AND Passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN); AND A current, active, full and unrestricted license, or registration as a professional nurse from a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to the Basic Qualification Requirements for a Nurse (Research Specialist), GS-0610, you must meet the Additional Qualification Requirement listed below for each grade level: You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1. Providing direct nursing care to research participants, ensuring adherence to established clinical research protocols and standards of care. 2. Performing patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, and collecting clinical data. 3. Educating research participants and their families on study procedures, potential risks, and benefits to ensure informed consent and protocol compliance. 4. Maintaining accurate documentation of all patient care activities and reporting adverse events and protocol deviations to senior research staff in a timely manner. You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: 1. Managing the care of patients enrolled in clinical research trials by developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans based on expert assessment. 2. Serving as a key member of the research team by providing expert clinical consultation to Principal Investigators on the development, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols. 3. Developing and delivering advanced education and training to research participants, families, and junior nursing staff on intricate protocol procedures and disease processes. 4. Overseeing the quality and integrity of clinical research data by establishing and monitoring data collection procedures, ensuring compliance with GCP, federal, and institutional regulations. A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.
