KP is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer who will lead server operations across the organization (on-prem, cloud and distributed).  They will be the technical lead for all of KP's infrastructure, encompassing Windows, VMware and Azure, and will serve as an escalation point for issues.  They will play a lead role in supporting, implementing, securing, configuring, monitoring, and the maintenance of enterprise systems and services, dedicated to providing amazing customer service, participating in project work, troubleshooting, and resolving escalations.

The Sr. Systems Engineer is a seasoned professional, proactive self-starter who has strong problem-solving analytical skills with great attention to detail.  This position is best suited for tier 3 engineers who want to remain hands-on and can take on project leadership/mentorship roles.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, manage and maintain robust Windows server environments, virtualized infrastructure and Azure hosting solutions that align with business needs.
• Using a cloud-smart approach, identify and lead the migration of on-prem systems to Azure.
• Administrative management of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, etc.)
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, etc.
• Lead the integration and testing of new technologies and upgrade existing infrastructure.
• Create, document, and communicate project requirements, plans, and status.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for escalated/urgent issues.
• Create and maintain technical and non-technical network/architectural documentation.
• Ability to perform risk analysis to identify IT security issues and remediating plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Bachelor’s Seeking with Technical Competencies and 8 years of industry experience OR 10 years of industry experience.
• Advanced/expert-level technical skills and understanding of Windows servers (cloud and on-prem), VMware, Azure; designing, implementing, and testing hardware and software across a distributed environment, including applying best practices.
• Expert knowledge working with Azure services (Azure based Windows virtual machines, SQL instances, storage accounts, Network Security Groups, Virtual Networks, DR, Backup, etc.), and designing redundant solutions.
• Strong understanding of Azure architecture designs, key concepts, cost optimizing measures, design principles and      architectural best practices.
• Expert knowledge and experience designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting Active Directory, DNS, DHCP,  GPO’s, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative manner with others, i.e. establish rapport, interview/fact-find, define      requirements, present options/recommend solutions, follow-up, and positive customer-focused behaviors
• Experience planning and executing Windows, ESXi and Azure upgrades across a distributed landscape.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
• Experience leading the effort with testing new technology, with the ability to implement.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Understands several technology areas (Windows, Virtualization, Azure, AD, GPO, firewalls, networking, etc.)
• Experience creating and following change control processes; familiarity with ITIL.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Applicable Windows, VMware or Azure certifications
• Experience in supporting infrastructure in regulated environments
