POSITION TITLE: Software Automation Support Engineer

POSITION LOCATION: Remote, United States

As a support automation specialist at Natera, you’ll collaborate as a member of a multifunctional support team, maintaining mission critical software that powers the execution of Natera’s diagnostic products. You’ll serve as a key resource and driver ensuring supportability and reliability of the systems we are building.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define supportability requirements for in-house software components
  • Document monitoring, troubleshooting and support strategy for a complex
  • microservices architecture
  • Participate in component design / review sessions and provide supportability perspective
  • Own and document problem analysis and triaging process
  • Work closely with architects & senior developers to ensure supportability aspects are part of software component design
  • Develop automation strategies for common support use cases

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or similar practical experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in support process automation and optimization

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated experience automating support processes across a complex ecosystem of systems
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and its supportability, monitoring & troubleshooting patterns / approaches
  • Understand logging approaches, log analytics
  • Experience with log analysis tools (SumoLogic, Data Dog and similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze / troubleshoot code (Java, Python)
  • Demonstrated ability to document requirements for technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Duties are typically performed in an office setting.
  • This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the
  • telephone, and read printed material.
  • Schedule may include non-traditional work hours, including nights and/or weekends.
