Technical Services Quality Assurance & Support Team Group Leader

The Technical Services Quality Assurance & Support Team Group Leader leads a high-performing team with accountability for safety, people leadership, process excellence, and quality outcomes. This role partners closely with leadership, project teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality Quality Assurance and Support solutions.

Basic Job Functions:

  • Safety Leadership: Champion Nucor’s safety culture by leading by example, reinforcing safe work practices, and integrating safety considerations into daily operations and planning.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback while overseeing training, professional development, and teammate growth to build a strong, engaged team.
  • Performance & People Management: Address performance concerns, resolve personnel challenges, and support teammate success to maintain team effectiveness and accountability.
  • Resource Planning & Staffing: Assess workload and staffing needs, recommend hiring decisions, and secure internal or contractor resources to meet operational and project demands.
  • Assist in Talent Acquisition and Development: Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and training of new team members.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Alignment: Maintain proactive, transparent communication with leadership, internal teams, and stakeholders, providing timely updates on priorities, risks, and progress.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Ensure project status, quality metrics, and resource needs are clearly documented, accurately reported, and accessible to appropriate audiences.
  • Continuous Improvement & Metrics: Monitor key support and quality metrics, identify trends, and drive improvement initiatives that enhance performance and reliability.
  • Support Process Management: Establish, maintain, and continuously improve standardized support processes, including incident resolution and escalation, to ensure consistency, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Quality Assurance Strategy & Automation: Partner with Product Management and Technical Services leadership to define QA strategies, expand automated testing capabilities, and standardize test case development to support scalability and long-term quality.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline. Equivalent combination of experience and education is also acceptable.
  • Two or more years of experience leading successful teams.
  • Five or more years of experience in IT Quality Assurance, Technical Support, or Project Management.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now and in the future. Nucor is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the metal building industry or, at minimum, in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
