Salary/Position Classification
- $20.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
- 5-20 hours per week

Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Literature Review: Conduct literature reviews to identify relevant research papers and articles in the field of study. • Generating Hypotheses: Assist in developing conjectures, hypotheses, and approach techniques to assist in resolving mathematical problems as required for the project.
- Proof Writing: Write formal mathematical proofs using appropriate techniques, present findings as clear, readable logical arguments.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized records of research activities, including attempted proofs, approach methodologies, and results.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty supervisor and fellow research assistants to contribute to the overall success of the research projects.
- Meetings and Reporting: Attend regular meetings with the research team to discuss progress, challenges, and findings. Prepare progress reports and presentations as needed.
- Other Duties: Assist with any other tasks related to the research projects as assigned by the supervisor. - (Essential)
Required Competencies
- • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in mathematical software tools (ex: MATLAB, R, Python) is a plus
Minimum Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior research experience, while not required, is a plus.
