About the role

Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physiatry, is offering an outstanding opportunity for two Neurorehabilitation Physiatrists to join our faculty. These will be full-time academic appointments on the Clinical Practice track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Position FTE may be negotiable. Start date anticipated by Fall 2025, but other dates may be considered.

Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter.

Only full-time positions (100% FTE) are eligible for H-1B and permanent residence sponsorship. Employer based permanent residence sponsorship is offered in the Clinical Practice track.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions.

We offer a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment. Opportunities will be available for building an academic career that includes clinical care, teaching, and scholarship.

Clinical duties may include a combination of inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient consults, and outpatient clinic, for patient care needs including general rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation diagnoses (representing a mix of diagnoses such as acquired brain injury, stroke, SCI etc.), and spasticity management. Expected sites of practice include the UW Medical Center-Montlake and Harborview Medical Center. The scope of the clinical practice and/or location of primary assignment may vary depending on the individual hired. The successful candidate may have opportunities to participate in the supervision of trainees as part of their clinical practice.
