Job Summary
As Director of Product Management, you will lead and develop a talented team towards achieving QSC’s product strategy and business goals for our portfolio of award-winning DSP-driven active loudspeakers, software control apps and accessories. You will be responsible for product portfolio performance, the growth and success of your product management team, development and maintenance of product roadmaps, and the execution of strategic initiatives. You will play a key leadership role in determining product strategy, setting direction, forming important partnerships, championing voice of the customer within the organization, and building a high-performance team. You must have a willingness to travel (up to 25%) including international travel. This role reports directly to QSC Audio executive leadership.
DRIVE EXECUTION OF THE PRODUCT STRATEGY
- Establish and implement a short-term product roadmap and long-term product strategy, in collaboration with the sales, marketing, product development, and executive team to ensure successful execution of the company’s business strategy and financial goals.
- Ensure on-schedule readiness of all phase-gate deliverables (market requirements, product requirements, software requirements and business case documents) for all pending development programs.
- Bring clarity throughout the organization around short-term product roadmap and overall long-term product strategy. Socialize upcoming programs and risks to ensure cross-functional understanding of impact to their department.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
BUILD EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT TEAM
- Manage individuals across the product management team including recruiting, onboarding, third-party contracting, setting objectives, talent development and ensuring high performance of all team members in meeting execution milestones.
- Oversee new product definition and ensure the User Experience and Out-of-Box Experience for all NPI products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Drive Market Research & Competitive Intelligence within the team, helping them to integrate outputs into strategic recommendations that guide decision-making & strategies.
- Instill a team culture that achieves greater insight into user-requirements and target applications through market research; nurture a frequent cadence of focused VOC discussion with channel partners and targeted end-users to shape portfolio & individual product development. Additionally, conduct focus groups, end-user surveys and in-person customer visits.
