The Florida Commission on Offender Review, formerly known as the Florida Parole Commission, is looking to fill the Commission Technician II - CS position within the Office of Parole Revocations. The Commission on Offender Review performs a vital role in Florida’s criminal justice system by preserving the autonomy needed in post-release decisions affecting inmates and ex-offenders. Commissioners preside over weekly meetings at the central office in Tallahassee and various other state locations as required by statute. During these public proceedings, the commissioners make a variety of determinations regarding parole and other releases.

Position Description
- Reviews final revocation hearings, waiver cases, and bond hearings and prepares agenda for the Commission well in advance of anticipated docket dates. Prepares an agenda by entering pertinent information on each revocation case into a personal computer program; distributes the agenda to appropriate staff in Revocations, Office of the Commission Clerk and Victims' Services; ensures that revocation cases are completed by other Commission Technicians and places case file materials in docket carts for Commission review; prepares addendum cases for voting dockets, as required.
- Reviews communications and computer printouts to determine the return of parole violators to Florida Department of Corrections custody; prepares index and other documents to commence final parole revocation process; transfers final parole revocation cases to the Revocations Supervisor for coordinating and planning hearing; and review withdrawal of waiver requests, removes the case from the docket, and contacts field staff to advise of withdrawal of waiver status, so that hearing process may commence.
- Reviews and updates the FCOR Warrants dismissal calendar with information from the field and central office. Provides this paperwork to the Revocation Specialists to process. Verifies that all cases scheduled for dismissal have been dismissed.
- Prepares official documents for delivery to the Governor's Office on extradition proceedings ensuring accuracy in the information collected and presented in the extradition request; prepares affidavits for the Commission attesting to the jurisdiction and interest of the Commission in requesting interstate extradition of release violators.
- Provides assistance to Revocations Supervisor with routine tasks, such as case file reviews, case file retrievals, collecting data on status of cases, or transmitting information to other offices.
- Prepares memoranda for the Revocations Supervisor; distributes memoranda and other information to the staff in the Revocations Section and maintains office records for the Revocations Supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
