A day in the life
The Director, EMS Finance & Strategic Capital will play a critical role in raising external capital to support the Energy & Mobility businesses. A successful candidate will bring a strong track record, industry relationships, and leadership capabilities while working closely with various internal teams and senior leadership to drive successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead project & portfolio debt, tax equity, and passive equity capital raising efforts, working directly with external parties and internal stakeholders
Negotiate term sheets and transaction documents working closely with the SVP, Finance & Capital Investment, internal & external counsel, & other key internal parties
Oversee and coordinate with internal stakeholders portfolio reporting to third parties including asset operations data, financial statements, and other requirements
Manage a team of 2-4 direct reports ranging from Analyst to Manager level
Prepare investment memos & present financing opportunities to Prologis’ Investment Committee
Maintain relationships with external capital providers and play the role of internal expert on market cost of capital & structure depending on capital source, market, and product (e.g. behind the meter & front of meter solar, contracted & uncontracted storage, EV charging depots & hubs)
Support other areas of EMS finance as needed including FP&A, project underwriting, development support, RFP bidding, etc.
Building blocks for success
Required:
7+ years of relevant experience working in banking, renewable energy finance, or other similar role
Significant experience sourcing and closing non-recourse debt, tax equity and/or project equity for renewable energy projects, preferably distributed solar & storage
Strong analytical skills with ability to present complex topics and structures in a simple, concise manner
Strong interpersonal skills with previous success working across multiple teams
Experience managing direct reports successfully including a desire to train, coach, & mentor
Self-starter able to work independently to develop strategies, implement and drive results
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree; MBA strongly preferred
Hiring Salary Range of: $158,000 - $218,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
