Consultant, Corporate Citizenship

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the nonprofit and philanthropic landscape, including experience working with community organizations and evaluating grant proposals. Familiarity with logic models, outcomes measurement, and public funding streams (federal and state) is essential. A foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and its practical applications is preferred. Exceptional writing, data analysis, and communication skills are also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with nonprofit, community, business, education, civic, and government organizations across key markets.
• Support the Nationwide Foundation through grant review, evaluation, and technical assistance, providing informed philanthropic recommendations to Foundation and OCC leadership.
• Collaborate with OCC leadership to research and assess potential community initiatives, ensuring alignment with Nationwide and the Nationwide Foundation’s impact priorities.
• Engage internal executive leaders in board and committee service opportunities within key markets, fostering deeper community involvement.
• Manage and support major nonprofit events and Nationwide’s participation, including leadership and associate engagement.
• Lead and coordinate internal OCC taskforce teams focused on critical areas such as food security, housing, mental health, crisis stability, and children’s well-being.
• Represent Nationwide on local boards, councils, and community initiatives, promoting thought leadership and driving meaningful impact.
• Partner with internal business teams to strengthen relationships and lead communication and public relations efforts—both internally and externally—to elevate Nationwide’s brand and reputation across key markets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

***NOTE: This is a hybrid position based in the Des Moines office, with an expectation of being in-office three times per week. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed is required.***

As a Consultant, you’ll be responsible for executing Corporate Citizenship initiatives that drive public and associate awareness of Nationwide as a respected corporate citizen. You’ll implement Nationwide Corporate Citizenship initiatives and provide insights to partners and be responsible for various aspects of Corporate Citizenship. You may partner on multiple projects concurrently.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Community Connect system, manage defects, customization, improvements and development of future system capabilities.
