Box Truck Driver Position Summary:

We are looking for a Box Truck Driver to join our company. You must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be familiar with surrounding neighborhoods. A commercial driver’s license is not required for this position. Your job duties will include loading delivery items, operating a box truck, and cleaning and maintaining equipment. When there are no current duties for loading trucks or making deliveries, you will assist in our shop until work becomes available. Lift-gate and forklift experience is a plus. Our clients expect their goods to arrive within a specific time frame, so you must be able to work independently and manage your time well. When spending time in the production shop, it will be required to fulfill and meet Crater responsibilities.

Core Functions: 

• Drive a delivery truck on a predetermined route and schedule
• Deliver or pick up items as instructed
• Load and unload vehicle as necessary
• Document deliveries or log other shipment information
• Follow DOT regulations

Crater Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurately measure the interior dimensions of the finished shell of the product 
• Install insulation material, lifting lugs, foil tape, & applicable labels to CDI’s specifications
• Operate glue guns, drill, sprayer, and pinspotter to complete assigned tasks
• Review and clean welds and apply cold galvanizing spray paint to CDI’s specifications
• Track and log work via computer/tablet and send the product to the next step
• Accurately measure finished product to determine critical dimensions & weights 
• Through use of various power tools cut lumber to correct measurements for crating
• Construction shipping crate through use of pneumatic nail guns and various power tools
• Prepare units for shipping
• Load completed product on trucks in line with the carrier, DOT and CDI’s requirements
• Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedules
• Other duties as assigned

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be willing to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant. 
• Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system. 
• Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Requirements

 Box Truck Driver Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• At least 21 years old
• Able to work independently and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Excellent communication skills
• Trucking or warehouse experience a plus
• Embraces and promotes CDI values

Crate Position Requirements 

• Basic understanding of blueprints and designs.
• Outstanding attention to detail, ability to multitask, strong time management skills.
• Ability to safely use various measuring tools & various other hand, power, & pneumatic tools. 
• Knowledge or willingness to learn how to cross-train in other production departments
• Ability to understand work orders and job schedules
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test
• Must be able to effectively read, write and speak the English language
• Ability to stand or walk for extended amounts of time
• Ability to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat and lift
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently, & lift 70 pounds occasionally
