POSITION: Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)
FLSA Status: Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES: The AMFT position reports directly to the LCSW or LMFT and performs supervised individual and group counseling and coordinates with all program disciplines on behalf of the client. This position provides mental health assessments, treatment planning, and clinical service counseling and maintains up-to-date clinical documentation as required. Collaborates with DCFS and probation/parole to provide progress in their recovery efforts. Position will consult with supervisors and staff as needed/required. Position attends weekly supervision with the LCSW or LMFT. Interacts with staff and clients in a professional and ethical manner. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Must have knowledge and basic skills in counseling practices and methods. Must have the ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and report activities conducted. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and to prepare written and electronic documents. Ability to communicate orally, both in person and by telephone. Must have the ability to establish rapport with others as a requisite for healthy and therapeutic relationships and the ability to be both consistent and flexible as circumstances warrant. Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm and supportive in psychological emergencies and/or crises when provided with appropriate supervision and direction. Ability to speak English/Spanish Preferred. Knowledge in electronic clinical records; computer literate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a dependable automobile, fully insured and valid California Driver’s License. Must submit to and pass a drug test, physical exam, TB Test and a criminal background clearance as a pre-condition to employment. Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine and boosters.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field with three (3) years’ experience in a mental health setting. Working towards licensing as LMFT or LCSW.
