What’s the role?

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead our internal Experimentation Data and Science Team.

As the Staff PM, Experimentation, you will help define Etsy's strategy on experimentation and work with a cross-functional group of data engineers and data scientists to build pipelines, metrics, and methodologies that enable everyone at the company to learn quickly through experiments. This is a full-time position reporting to the Group Product Manager, Data Enablement and the base salary range will be 172,000 - 224,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn office in an in-person or flex capacity. Candidates living within commutable distance of the Brooklyn Hub, may be the first to be considered. Experimentation is the foundation of building and launching products at Etsy and the Experimentation Platform and Science team is responsible for the end-to-end platform, including experimentation configuration, setup, data processing, statistical analysis, and reporting of experimentation. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Define the product vision and strategy for experimentation data and methodology, which empowers product teams to learn quickly from experiments.
• Define methods and metrics for measuring product success, and communicate those metrics with senior leadership.
• Build close relationships with internal users and understand their preferences and gaps in their experiences, including Analytics, Product Management, Product Engineering, Machine Learning, and Marketing.
• Provide structure to this complex space, and identify iterative steps that add new value early and often for experimenters while still heading towards a long-term vision.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• Experience as a Product Manager working in a data or technology-heavy role, with a passion for experimentation.
• Hands-on experience in experiment design and delivering metrics improvements.
• Deep understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design. Experience with building experimentation platforms is a plus.
• Experience with building cross-functional partnerships with internal customers and peers, for example, Product, Marketing, Engineering and Analytics.
• Strong collaboration skills and works well with a diverse set of roles.
• Ability to communicate complex and technical concepts to a broad audience.
• A trust in and commitment to Etsy’s vision, mission and values.
