Responsibilities
The selected System Security Engineer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of System Security & Cybersecurity work products in support of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, which entails:
- Working with cross-disciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Software, Hardware, and Integrations & Test to support technical execution and technical readiness reviews
- Communicating and storyboarding contributions to peers, leadership, and sponsors for feedback and review.
- Bringing a willingness to adopt and embrace new concepts, methodologies, and approaches to best tackle complex industry solutions.
- Supporting effects-based hazard analysis needs across Draper for evaluation of the current as-conceived, as-designed, and as-fielded resiliency postures.
- Documenting insights, findings, and maintaining a knowledge base of contributions within Draper’s collaborative tool suite.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum BS degree in a technically relevant engineering field with 2-4 years of relevant experience or a MS degree
- Critical thinking skills for framing, analyzing, and synthesizing complex problems qualitatively and quantitatively
- Proficiency in full life-cycle systems engineering (concept development, trades & analysis, requirements definition, architecture & design compliance, integration & test, and certification & deployment) of security technologies and components within cyber-physical systems and systems-of-systems
- Familiarity with attack surface modeling, cryptographic, and vulnerability management approaches and techniques
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with customers, engineers, managers, and other relevant stakeholders –both verbally and written
- Flexibility to multi-task, adapt to evolving problems, and document contributions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency maturing system security concepts and design principles
- Experience with Model-based System Engineering toolkits, such as Cameo/MagicDraw, DOORs/DoorsNG, Jama Connect, MATLAB, and Python/Dash
- An understanding of the fundamentals of cryptographic key management, public key infrastructure, and NSA’s Key Management Infrastructure, and the applications of cryptology
- An understanding of supply chain operations, risk management framework, information assurance, technology protection
Security Requirement:
- Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security Government security clearance which requires proof of US citizenship.
