JOB SUMMARY

The Ambulatory Clinics Director of Nursing oversees the clinical operations and nursing practice within multiple outpatient clinics. Reporting to the Chief Nurse Executive, this role collaborates closely with medical staff, clinical and administrative leaders, and other nursing directors to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, staff management, budget maintenance, and compliance with regulatory standards. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Operations Management

• Directs daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

• Analyzes patient care metrics and implements improvements.

• Manages nursing staff schedules and assignments.

Staff Leadership and Development

• Recruits, trains, and evaluates nursing staff.

• Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities.

• Conducts performance reviews and manages disciplinary actions.

Budget and Financial Management

• Oversees the nursing department budget.

• Monitors expenditures and ensures cost-effective operations.

• Prepares financial reports and forecasts.

Quality and Compliance

• Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

• Implements quality improvement initiatives.

• Conducts regular audits and reviews.

Strategic Planning

• Participates in the development of long-term strategic plans.

• Aligns nursing goals with organizational objectives.

• Collaborates with other leaders on strategic initiatives.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in nursing or healthcare clinical operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Unencumbered Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification obtained within 6 months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• At least 7 year(s) of experience in relevant nursing experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
• Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing (RN-BC),
• Director of Nursing Services-Certified (DNS-CT)
• Nurse Executive – Board Certified (NE‑BC)

SALARY RANGE

$150,000 + depending on qualifications
