We are currently searching for a part-time Clinical Assistant to join our team at our OrthoCarolina Huntersville Urgent Care team.

The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing and coordinating orthopedic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing, participating in patient teaching, communicating effectively with others, and partnering with the physician/mid-level provider in the delivery of patient care.  

Huntersville Urgent Care hours:

  • Monday 5:30pm - 9:00pm
  • Friday 5:30pm - 9:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am - 2:00pm
  • Sunday: 10:00am - 2:00pm

This role will be filled by two team members, and each will have the opportunity to choose the two dates that best align with their availability.

Essential Functions: 

  • Updating clinical notes in electronic medical systems  

  • Completing phone triage  

  • Casting and bracing  

  • Performing routine office procedures   

  • Providing patient education  

  

 Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of EMR (Epic) 

  • Ability to triage patient telephone calls. Gather pertinent facts; be as accurate and concise as possible to assess patient health status and act as liaison between patient and provider.  

  • Ability to clearly and effectively educate patients, families and staff regarding the full scope of patient care needs related to the care of patients with orthopedic problems.  

  • Communicate effectively and clearly Respond well to questions with patients, physicians/ mid-level providers and co-workers.   

  

Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training, or nursing. Or Experience plus certification.  

  •  Certification is required
