As a Gap Year Scribe, you will have the opportunity to:

• Receive Mentorship from practicing Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine Providers
• Collaborate with other Gap Year Scribes

As a Gap Year Scribe, you can expect to:

• Accompany Physician to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient in an electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide advanced support to providers, including but not limited to documenting patient history, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, diagnoses, and prescriptions.
• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
• Provide support to providers, including but not limited to, documenting phone calls, and alerting the physician with labs/radiology reports when complete
• Comply with facility and HIPAA policies, including those relating to confidentiality of patient information.
