Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services Supervisor, this Mental Health Therapist will provide service to Young Adults aged 16-21 years old. These services could include: enhanced therapy in the office setting, outreach activities, and coordination with transitional youth teams both internally and externally, skill building activities to improve functioning and independence in the community, etc. Population of focus can be youth who are transitioning to other adult focused services if deemed medically necessary, clinically appropriate and requested. Some possibility of working with younger children when capacity allows.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required, LMSW preferred. One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience with children and families required. One year of post Master’s experience with minors and families within the past 6 years preferred. Experience with youth age 16- 21 and transitional youth population preferred. Persons must be able to work well with others and have at least one year of experience working with children and families. Specific training or experience with cognitive behavioral interventions and/or strength-based treatment is highly preferred. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Candidate must be able to work well with others. Candidate will be expected to work some evening hours. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.

Conditional Employment Requirement: Offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, and to undergo and pass a Central Registry Screening, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: :$58,839 -$66,787 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $77,221. 40 hours per week, some evening hours.
Location: Families Forward/Child & Adolescent Services, Lansing, Michigan.
