Weekend Split Shift (12pm-12:30am) Production Supervisor, Sample Handling

This position will be responsible for supervising the Weekend Split Shift (12:00p-12:30a) manufacturing of products produced at the Sample Handling facility.

  • Supervise the manufacturing of products according to approved batch records and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the scheduling of production.
  • Supervise the filling and packaging of manufactured products.
  • Supervise the labeling and palletizing of manufactured products.
  • Maintain organization and inventory control of raw materials in warehouse.
  • Supervise the cleaning of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing areas.
  • Monitor labor, time and production metrics and identify areas to improve efficiency.   
  • Ensure that written procedures are followed.
  • Train and supervise manufacturing personnel.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of manufacturing personnel.
  • Always maintain required compliance.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist with physical inventories.
  • Provide backup to the Manufacturing Manager during his/her absence.
  • Supervise the cleaning of all areas of the facility and grounds.
  • Assist in manufacturing as needed.
  • Assist in the selection and installation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist in other areas when deemed necessary by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years related experience and a clear understanding of manufacturing procedures in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • Experience supervising staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interface with management regarding duties and future development of department.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and regulatory documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, lower-level management, and public groups.

MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averaging.

Direct experience with Windows-based computers, use of personal computer, keyboard and software packages including Windows, Microsoft Office and MRP systems.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver’s license.

TRAVEL EXPECTIATIONS

Expected to attend seminars related to position, which may require overnight travel.
