Supervisor, Patient Accounts Healthcare

Oversees all functions of the inpatient and/or outpatient accounting office and a staff of credit, collection, insurance, and billing clerks.

Monitors Patient Payment Plans to ensure the plans are within the institution's guidelines. Trains, monitors and manages customer services staff members in handling patient questions regarding their bills. Meets with patients face-to-face as necessary and ensures patient concerns are resolved in a timely manner. Coordinates activities and schedules work assignments to meet rigid billing deadlines; may spend time performing many of the same duties as subordinate employees; acts as point of contact for vendors. Provides guidance and instruction in the interpretation of department policies, procedures, and practices. Initiates and implements improvements to billing systems within the confines of federal and state collection laws. Attends monthly meetings and presents analysis reports. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Ability to work on projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information. Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
