In this pivotal role, as Production Engineering Leader, you will lead a dynamic team of Manufacturing, Tooling, Liaison, and Industrial Engineers driving efforts to define, stabilize, and improve the production system for the T-7 Program. By leveraging your expertise and innovative thinking, you will guide your team in identifying inefficiencies, developing robust solutions, and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity and quality ensuring customers’ needs are met. This role not only emphasizes technical and leadership excellence but also champions a
culture of continuous improvement, empowering your team to achieve operational excellence and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
This role on the T-7 program will also provide valuable experience working with a development program as it transitions into low-rate production through full rate while coordinating across multiple functions.
Position Responsibilities
Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in Production Engineering including Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA), line side support to Manufacturing Operations, supplier support, rate readiness, and non-recurring engineering initiatives.
Responsible and accountable for control accounts within the organization
Perform risk, issue and opportunity management
Develop and execute project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures.
Set operational goals and acquire necessary resources for projects and processes.
Provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, and team members.
Provide technical inputs for derivatives and future requests for proposals.
Oversee and approve technical approaches, products, and processes.
Manage, develop, and motivate employees to achieve high performance.
Travel expectation is about 20% of the time
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of proven leadership experience managing cross functional engineering teams and projects.
Strong understanding of production and assembly processes.
Willing to travel
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with military or defense programs.
Knowledge of Boeing's organizational processes, program plans, and policies.
Demonstrated ability in budget management and business process improvement.
Familiarity with critical path methodology and project leadership principles.
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Experience with FSDA, structural repair principles and systems thinking.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Control Account Management (CAM) Experience
Risk, Issue, Opportunity (RIO) management experience
Position is 100% on site.
