Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.

Our engineering organization is looking for a motivated and experienced iOS engineer at Senior level to join Strava’s mobile teams in Europe. We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our Berlin office—roughly three days per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with all members of your product development team, be that fellow engineers, designers, product managers, researchers and analysts, to identify and execute on opportunities to further extend Strava’s best in class mobile offering.
  • Be a part of Strava’s cross-team iOS Guild, helping define the future of the iOS app at Strava.

You Will Be Successful Here By:

  • Demonstrating empathy for athletes and their experience while using Strava.
  • Building beautiful, smooth, delightful mobile experiences.
  • Using your knowledge of all things iOS to participate in technical conversations with peers from different backgrounds.
  • Being willing to explore and learn new technologies outside of your comfort zone.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bring proficiency and hands-on experiences in iOS development using Swift, ObjC, SwiftUI / UIKit.
  • Have worked with iOS frameworks such as UIKit, Core Data, and Core Animation in a production environment.
  • Have experience with watchOS or a desire to learn watchOS development
  • Have experience working with large, modularized applications that use dependency injection tools and connect to back-end services. Having experience in using GraphQL is a plus.
  • Have at least some experience in using GraphQL.
  • Stay up to date and experiment with the latest iOS technologies, understanding their objective engineering value.
  • Have a product-focused mindset. Our team works together to deliver projects that use technology to solve real business problems.
  • Enjoy working on mobile apps at all levels – from optimising network requests to pixel perfect animations.
  • Can coordinate with fellow iOS, Android and Server engineers to maintain clean and considered common touchpoints and share best practices across the stack.
  • Have led a technical project of any scale.
  • Have experience maintaining testable code bases. With an appreciation for the challenges posed by each within a fast evolving codebase.

We'd love to talk to you about the future of Strava’s mobile app and your role in developing it. For more on Strava’s engineering team check out the Engineering Blog.
