The software development Technical Manager provides direct line management for a group of engineers and provides hiring, assessment, operational, and development support for the team. On a day-to-day basis, this job requires an experienced software engineer to help mentor staff as well as solve day-to-day issues that can impact staff efficiency. The Technical Manager will primarily perform direct software development and other technical activities as the majority of their assignment.
A successful candidate in this role is a both technically savvy and willing to help establish the local work culture while implementing corporate objectives. They will have both coding expertise and strong communication skills. The Technical Manager reports to the Director of Engineering.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages personnel on the technical team, including staff work assignments, routine authorizations, and process approvals.
Supports staff career evaluation and growth opportunities.
Performs other technical management duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
Applies software standards and processes to produce high quality, extensible, and maintainable software packages.
Collaborates with our radar and research scientist experts to solve issues and iterate to improve image product quality.
Builds and improves on automated test and verification software and tools.
Designs robust software systems for integration of existing signal processing tools.
Debugs, refactors and reimplements existing software codebases into new systems and on new platforms.
Participates in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
US citizenship with an active/current TS/SCI.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related technology fields.
5 years experience in a relevant technical field (computer science or engineering, software development, data science, etc.).
Technical team or project management experience.
Strong programming skills in an Object Oriented programming language (e.g,. C++, Python).
Version control experience in Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket).
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication ability.
Comfortable with developing professional relationships.
Other language skills: Java, scripting or similar.
Experience with formal software development methodologies (Agile)

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$120,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually.
