Senior Financial Project Analyst

The Senior FPA Analyst reports directly to the Finance Manager. The position is responsible for managerial plant related FP&A activities including project profitability tracking, forecasting, cost and inventory control and financial KPIs. The position will be highly visible within the Americas operations and with the Switchgear and Busbar LOB.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for managing the financial aspects manufacturing projects:
- Tracking and reporting the financial profitability.
- Analyzing and monitoring actual costs, project budgets and project tasks ensuring that all the costs are allocated accurately and that all additional expenses and overheads are accounted for.
- Ensuring revenue is timely and accurately processed.
- Uncovering industry best practices in project administration and project planning controls.
- Will partner with shared services accounting team in month end close process and financial statement submissions.
- Development of annual financial plan, including standard labor and overhead rates, departmental spending and capital budget.
- Preparation of monthly financial forecast.
- Analyze inventory balance sheet accounts and reserve reconciliations.
- Coordinate and oversee annual physical inventory.
- Review monthly financial statements prior to promotion.
- Actively participate and initiate process improvements to organizational processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and SOX compliance.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist with continuous improvements initiatives as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA is accounting or finance.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience with at least 1 year in a finance or accounting role with a manufacturer
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Confidence in challenging the status quo; always on the hunt for continuous improvement opportunities.
- The ability to go fast; the desire to help others go faster.
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills.
