Applications are invited for a Full-Time Research Assistant position at the Department of Biology of Georgetown University. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform mouse genotyping, surgeries, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, visual evoked potential studies, and tissue dissections.

  • Oversee flow cytometry and cryosectioning, making solutions and performing molecular and cell biology experiments, including PCR.

  • Manage immunostaining and mouse handling with members of the Huang laboratory in the Department of Biology.

  • Work no more than 40 hours/week, performing other duties as assigned.

Work Interactions

The Research Assistant will work in the laboratory of Dr. Jeff Huang, Biology Dept.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master’s in Biochemistry or Neurobiology or equivalent

  • Successful applicants will have at least 12 months of experience in laboratory preparation and tissue sectioning/analyses

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$18.28 - $27.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
