Job Summary:

The Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes has an opening for a part-time (0.2 FTE) Clinical Sciences Professional to work on a qualitative study, Playing with Gender: A Qualitative Study and Educational Intervention on Diverse Sexual Practices in Transgender and Gender Diverse People.      

The Clinical Sciences Professional will perform qualitative research and be responsible for working closely with Primary Investigator, Dani Loeb MD, MPH, on all aspects of the study. This position will assist in maintaining the COMIRB; recruiting participants; interviewing participants; analyzing data; and presenting data through peer-reviewed conferences and publishing findings in papers. This position will also assist in writing further grants to fund the study. The Clinical Sciences Professional will meet weekly with research team through the course of the study.

Preference will be given to applicants with a background in working with transgender and gender diverse adults. In addition, applicants should be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team. Ability to work independently and set up interviews with participants is also key for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit participants for additional interviews.

  • Interview participants.

  • Develop code book for complete interviews.

  • Train research assistant in code book.

  • Work with research assistant in coding all interviews with 25% double coding.

  • Assist in writing up findings in manuscripts.

  • Present findings at conferences.

  • Assist in applying for additional funding.

Work Location:

Remote – this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.
