The Assistant Baseball Coach assists the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive NCAA Division I baseball program within the Southeastern Conference and Louisiana State University. This position supports the recruitment, development, coaching, and retention of student-athletes while contributing to the program's operational, administrative, fundraising, alumni engagement, and public relations efforts.
50% Trains, coaches, and provides leadership for baseball student-athletes. Provide instruction during practices, games, and individual skill development settings. Identify and recruit prospective baseball student-athletes adhering to all NCAA, SEC and institutional policies.
40% Assists with the overall administration and daily operations of the baseball program including coordinating team travel, managing travel authorizations and expense reconciliations, processing purchasing and operational documentation, monitoring compliance-related paperwork, and supporting all NCAA, SEC, and institutional administrative requirements. Assists in the coordination of recruiting visits, team functions, alumni engagement initiatives, fundraising activities, NIL and student-athlete brand engagement support, and special events that enhance the visibility and success of the program. Supports communication and organizational efforts related to academics, student-athlete welfare, scheduling, and program operations while helping maintain an efficient and competitive championship-level environment.
5% Represents the Department of Athletics and the baseball program through public relations, community engagement, donor cultivation, alumni outreach, camps and clinics, media opportunities, and other external events. Assists in promoting the program through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders while supporting initiatives that strengthen the visibility, reputation, and community connection of LSU Baseball.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with prior coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate or professional level; Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience coaching a collegiate baseball team at the Division I level.
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work extended days, weekends and holidays. Travel is required.
