Job Summary
Directs a major function within the System's Materials Resource Management department. These major functions are Capital Equipment Planning and Procurement, and Supply Distribution. Provides supplies and equipment in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Essential Functions
- Directs assigned supply chain processes, receiving, put away, picking, inventory, and restocking functions at the Distribution Center and hospital environment. Analyzes these processes to determine optimum control levels and to eliminate errors.
- Manages all assigned perpetually based inventories effectively insuring accuracy through regular cycle counting. Manages departmental budget effectively.
- Maximizes production efficiencies by development of standard processes that are controlled through the appropriate Material Management Information Systems.
- Responsible for physical grounds and building and employee safety, security, and comfort.
- Oversees the establishment of production metrics to act as guide for productivity and efficiency within assigned team.
- Directs team to assist in the implementation of supply change initiatives that have a direct impact on the clinical departments. Works toward insuring the time between availability of product and use in the department is minimal allowing for maximum departmental expense reduction.
- Works with Clinical Value Analysis to insure that vendor training is coordinated and effected departments are aware of the change and its timing.
- Continuous focus on departmental process improvement through benchmarks and employee rounding.
Work requires sitting at desk for prolonged periods of time while working at the computer or on telephone. Requires the ability to deal effectively with business partners or internal customers, promoting a positive image for the System. Includes travel to participating GPO facilities and affiliate sites.
