What You’ll Do

Amplify’s Data Governance team is responsible for ensuring our data's quality, accuracy, security, and consistency through a mix of visibility and controls. We truly believe in a culture of data enablement and strive to empower our teams to achieve their objectives through the use of data. Our purpose is to encourage users to explore and be confident in the data, not put up gates to limit or restrict. We believe that data has the power to drive our business, improve the efficacy of our products, and, most importantly, change the lives of teachers and students - and to do that, the Data Governance team ensures the data is well-defined, discoverable, secure, and high quality.

• Impress the toughest customers around – students – by ensuring that Amplify data is well defined, of high quality, and can provide trustworthy insights into student experiences spanning all of Amplify’s products, systems and platforms.  

• Help school administrators build great schools by ensuring that high-quality data is leveraged to allow our educators to make informed decisions regarding curriculum, resource allocation, and individualized student support

• Make life better for passionate Amplify teams across the organization by providing a place to have the important conversations about data challenges, decisions and strategies, and by curating  business glossary definitions and physical metadata that clarifies data sources and definitions

• Learn every day by partnering with our colleagues to understand Amplify’s data needs, and seeking out innovative industry best practices and resources to continually improve and strengthen Amplify’s Data Governance framework.

• Delivery: 

  • Drive the successful technical delivery of the Data Catalog

  • Support the Data Domain and Stewardship teams with data governance efforts, such as Business Glossary definitions and asset enrichment

  • Execute the rollout of data governance initiatives and policies 

• Communication and Collaboration: Partner with data stakeholders across the organization to promote data governance goals, assist with breaking down invisible data barriers, and understand, catalog, and steward key data assets for the company to gain a comprehensive understanding of the data assets

• Change Management: Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and self-service governance tools within the metadata catalog to help all functions meet their governance needs

• Leadership: Provide Leadership to our data stakeholders during key initiatives such as launch of the Amplify Data Catalog / Metadata management tool and building strong Data Stewardship teams. 

• People Skills:  Foster strong relationships and navigate diverse stakeholder perspectives in order to gain consensus for data governance work efforts

• Strategy: Assist in helping to drive data governance security and access policies, help define data quality
