Who will you be working with?
Reporting to the CSX Account Material Leader, this critical role is part of a team of logistics experts who are located across the Eastern US and is part of the larger Wabtec CSX Field Services Account Team. In addition to immediate team members, this role interfaces with employees at all levels in various other divisions throughout the company, owns multiple vendor relationships, and interacts directly with the customer (CSX Railroad) as necessary.

This critical position is responsible for a variety of tasks to support the account. On a daily basis, your decisions and actions will have a large impact in driving the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire account and closely monitored customer metrics.
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred
- OR a HS diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a material planning capacity
- Additional prior experience in production control or planning, supervision, sourcing, or material control environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective work priorities
- MS Office Expertise on Access / Excel
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance
- A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
What will your typical day look like?
Some of the main tasks that encompass this position include things such as FMI and program management planning, new fleet material sourcing and tracking, transportation monitoring, customer sales ordering, tracking all AR from order to payment, critical material monitoring. In the event of vacancies in shop locations, the role will support the team to include on-site support and training/helping onboard new hires. Some of the additional tasks that this role will be responsible for include:
- Ordering all FMI material across multiple sites at full lead-time to match an RM schedule to prevent program delays while avoiding excess inventory.
- Weekly monitor on hand active and upcoming FMI material to ensure material is on hand at needed sites to avoid OOS locos and prevent delays.
- Support the account with special projects including developing transactional processes, working through special circumstances or instructions, implementing new processes, and general material support.
- Work with Engineering and Fleet teams on upcoming new fleets to develop material lists including estimating potential demand, placing orders to drive demand, and then weekly follow-up with buyers to ensure parts are delivered on-time.
- Track new Fleet performance, watching material usage closely to adjust planning on new parts and monitor on hand quantities of parts while planning for scheduled changeouts.
- Monitoring constrained or critically allocated material including daily monitoring of extremely low on hand material, attending daily CA calls to obtain parts needed for OOS locomotives.
- Process all customer sales orders. Weekly work VEOS errors so orders will generate in system including resolving pricing and other issues.
- Weekly update AR Past Due report to ensure invoices are being paid on time and any issues are resolved so payment is not delayed.
- Work with internal Senior leadership team on over-the-counter sales, including those to and from customer. Ensure OTC Sales to customer are processed timely and invoices are generated quickly. Ensure OTC Sales from customer are validated and approved monthly. Work to improve both processes as needed.
- Reconcile LHFM/MSL penalty payment with CSX each reporting period, resolving disputes, liaison from field to customer, weekly coordination with contract & financial manager.
- Provide oversight to repair shops and ML and SL on changes to transport cost changes on per mile and lane as well as port interruptions.
- Works with finance manager to determine any transport costs or changes
- Overall responsible for all Transportation Metrics for MSA.
