Project Specialist

The Disability Health Research Center (DHRC) in collaboration with ReBokeh is seeking a Project Specialist for the development of a new accessible mobile technology platform to connect people with visual impairments. The potential impact of this application is far-reaching, as this technology can be expanded to any disease or patient population and serve as a framework to enhance social interaction, self-efficacy, and mental well-being.

We are seeking a Project Specialist who will work closely with the Director of the DHRC, CEO of ReBokeh, and software development teams to manage and facilitate daily project activities. Additionally, this person will oversee the project as a whole, lead the facilitation to develop the application, as well as spearhead its distribution to users. In addition to leading the project management, this role requires teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and proper management processes to assure successful attainment of project outcomes. We are seeking applicants with an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in project leadership.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Collaboration

• Develop long-term project schedules, timelines, and deliverables and ensure those goals are met throughout the project's lifetime.
• Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders.
• Run project update meetings with agendas and synthesize information into coherent report outs.
• Oversee the software developer(s) on the project to ensure goals are achieved on time.
• Monitor project risks (both technical and business) and work with collaborators to develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure project files are organized, maintained, stored, and shared with project team members for efficient retrieval and use.
• Ensure accessibility at every stage of the project.
• Prepare and assemble project materials, reports, and platform to achieve distribution to a broad audience of users with visual impairment.
• Demonstrate high level of teamwork and collaboration in communicating, planning, negotiating, decision-making, and leadership.

Funding Management

• Assist in the development of publications and grant applications and reports through collaborative writing and editing. This includes taking an active role in securing additional funding for this project.
• Maintain records of expenditure within university policies.
• Use resources in accord with sound fiscal principles.

Relationship Development

• Foster partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders and communities.
• Partner on determining a business plan, tech transfer, and other steps after the conclusion of the grant award period.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Data management and reporting skills.
• Understanding of project management software systems.
• Writing skills.
• Interest in software engineering, entrepreneurship, and equity for people with visual impairment.

• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Five years of related experience.
• Additional related experience may substitute for required education and additional related education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: Min $62,300 - Max $109,000 Annually ($83,900 budgeted; Commensurate with experience)
