Design Engineer III - Virtual Process/Product Build (DELMIA)

This role will support engineering design and development activities to build the vehicle assembly process virtually and manage MBOM in DELMIA for large-scale automotive development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software and conduct layout review. 
• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.  
• Work in 3D Experience to monitor the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) for Complete Vehicle Build Unit (CBU) and Weld.
• Support Virtual Confirmation Build activity for the CBU/Weld using Product, Process, and Resource in DELMIA for all projects.
• Provide Support to questions from outside groups related to 3D Experience platform.
• Investigate Root Cause of issues that come up and provide analysis and feedback.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.  
• Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design/process costs 
• Travel to client sites required.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of Automotive Industry experience with Virtual Confirmation Build activity for the Complete Vehicle Build Unit (CBU)/Weld using DELMIA
• Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Automotive.  
• Experience using 3D Experience including CATIA V6 and DELMIA is required.
• Experience with creating/managing Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) using Product, Process and Resource in DELMIA is required.
• Experience using BI Essentials is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Proficiency in MS office.
