Job Description:

   

The Environmental Product Steward Team Manager will lead HPE’s product stewardship program, working cross-functionally with teams in supply chain and BU engineering teams to ensure new and existing products comply with applicable regulations in areas such as materials, chemicals, and energy efficiency, eco-labels, end-of-life, and packaging

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze emerging environmental regulations and standards, inform BUs of new requirements and impact on business, and provide interpretation and coordination to integrate into product roadmaps and execute new regulatory (and/or voluntary) requirements with no interruption to NPI processes. 
  • Note current examples include partnering with Compute Engineering to advance toward higher ecolabel ratings (Energy Star 4.0; EPEAT Silver) through targeted improvements to server engineering roadmaps. 
  •  Lead escalation efforts with HPE supplier relationship owners when necessary and respond to customer queries on relevant topics as necessary
  •  Lead team of 7 IC engineers at various levels and tenures within the company to ensure active participation, staff workloads, and manage succession and success planning. 
  • Desired qualifications include a strong engineering background, experience in NPI compliance deliverables, vendor management, and people management.
  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors coordinating, managing, and leading programs to drive the engineering development and implementation of products and service offerings.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans,coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years' experience with project management, hardware engineering, supply chain or sustainability matters.
  • Previous Leadership with exposure to managing an international team.
  • Previous project management experience is required

  • Strong communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
  • Good understanding of the company's policies and processes.
