JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE: UTILITY

 

Reports To:        Production Lead Person

 

General Purpose:

Assists in a variety of material handling and support services to various departments within the plant.  Job requires individual to be capable of moderate to heavy handling of Finished Goods, Work-In-Process, and Raw Material.

Qualifications

Specific Responsibilities:

• Puts away inventory assigned to stock location.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Puts away W.I.P. and Raw Material as needed.
• Moves material during the course of production.
• Assists in parts washing.
• Maintains clean work area on a daily basis.
• Empties trash and cardboard
• Maintains box supply
• Maintains toiletries
• Implements safety and good housekeeping practices
• Occasional groundskeeping
• Other duties as assigned

 

Position Specifications:

Physical Demands:           Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping

                                         Frequent walking throughout warehouse and plant area

                                         Tolerance to industrial strength cleaners

                                         Heavy lifting and carrying up to 75#

Sensory Abilities:                           Ability to speak clearly and distinctly, bilingual a plus

Work Environment:          Inside year round, with occasional outside duties – Warehouse and plant setting

                                         Hot and humid in Parts Washing

Temperament:                  Ability to work as a member of a team

                                         Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions

Cognitive Ability:             Ability to follow written/verbal instructions

                                         Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

                                         Ability to read and write

                                         Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions

                                         Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks

 

Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.  Forklift certification required.

 

Relationships With Others:

Regular contacts with production personnel and management.

 

Complexity Of Tasks:

Tasks are varied, requiring independent action and decision making.

None
