Battery Research Intern - Summer 2023

Start Date: May 2023 (flexible)

• Contribute as an integral part of our R&D lab operations
  • Participate in experiment planning sessions and experiment management
  • Improve our experimental battery testing apparatus
  • Present battery testing results at weekly company meetings
• Build and test commercial format batteries and battery materials
• Optimize and improve our AI-powered battery R&D process

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or other similar fields.
• Great communication and teamwork, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Keen interest in hands-on battery R&D experience.
• Able to work fully on-site, Monday to Friday, at our facility in Sunnyvale, California (please note, this is not a remote internship).

Preferred:

• Previous experience in Li-ion battery R&D and/or glovebox work, such as a prior internship or experience in a lab.
• Fundamentals of chemistry, both experimental and theoretical.
• High GPA.
• Programming experience in a language such as Python.
• Familiarity with basics of electronic circuits.
• Passionate about learning battery and energy storage technologies.
