Toast's Finance, Strategy & Analytics team is seeking to hire a new Associate to join our Corporate Revenue Team. This Associate will assist our Corporate Revenue team in advancing its two main priorities: (1) to build and maintain the data infrastructure and/or analysis for all financial and operational metrics that undergird revenue or special revenue-related initiatives at Toast, and (2) present this data to business leaders and assist them in strategic judgments regarding risks and opportunities affecting revenue growth.

Building good infrastructure within a large FS&A organiazation requires someone who is technically proficient at manipulating data, has strong design intuition for how to to reduce friction and increase scalability in existing or new systems & processes, and works well collaboratively across different teams and interest groups that will rely on this infrastructure. Existing knowledge of relevant technical skills, the ability to learn new skills & technologies, attention to detail, and an eagerness to jump into challenging and complex situations and problem solve iterably are highly desirable for this part of the role.

The second part of this role concerns what the Corporate Revenue team does with the data it manages to inform business leaders and guide strategic discussions related to revenue. When fully ramped, this role’s unique visibility across the entire company from a top-line perspective will provide the opportunity to work on high impact projects with a variety of different potential business partners throughout Toast. This role offers significant exposure to senior finance leadership, with the opportunity to directly impact the company's financial performance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

 About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

• Design, build, and improve critical infrastructure for data that numerous teams rely on to measure the performance of the company 
• Support projects and initiatives that unlock important opportunities for growth by enabling data-driven decision-making on business investments and strategic resource allocation in real time
• Leverage tools such as Hex, Excel, Sigma, Python, Snowflake/SQL, and more to convert intricate data sets into meaningful, actionable insights
• Showcase insights in well structured and formatted slides
• Examine variances between actuals, forecasts, and plans, using insights to refine forecasts and collaborate with cross-functional teams on action plans
• Communicate clearly, knowledgeably and transparently with cross functional stakeholders to build trusted relationships and enhance business outcomes
• Proactively and reactively develop and address business questions through independent investigation / data forensics 

 Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• 3+ years experience in Finance, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and/or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative field such as mathematics or economics/finance 
• Proficient in SQL, Javascript, & Python
• Data-driven mindset with analytical and modeling skills, eager to dive into data to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic discussions
• Experience with data visualization. Can confidently choose the best visualization style for the given context; the insights from your visualizations speak for themselves 
• Background building interactive dashboards in a tool such as Hex, Looker, Tableau, Sigma, etc 
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills amongst a range of audiences
• Positive attitude with strong attention to details 
• Adaptable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive amid change and evolution
