Located in Danville, KY, the historic, picturesque 150-acre campus is 30 miles from Lexington, in the famed Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky.
Under supervision of the Head Football Coach, provide assistance in various aspects of coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties for a nationally competitive Division III football program. Individual reports to the Head Football Coach.
- Assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting practices, training, and competitions;
- Recruit student-athletes in accordance with all Centre College, Southern Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations;
- Provide assistance in the administration of the football program, as required;
- Represent the Centre Football to various institutions, students, parents, and the general public;
- Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures;
- Assist with the holistic development of football student-athletes;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents on and off campus;
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach, the Director of Athletics, or a designee;
- Demonstrate an appreciation for and sensitivity to an inclusive academic community, fostering a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff from all social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with previous collegiate experience required; previous collegiate coaching experience preferred.
- CPR, AED, and First-Aid certifications will be required upon employment.
- Valid driver’s license required prior to employment – and maintained throughout.
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of football and its rules; ability to foster a team environment; demonstrated coaching skills in sport of football;
- Knowledge of travel, planning, and scheduling;
- a commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy of athletics;
- a commitment, and ability, to work effectively with diverse populations;
- high integrity and ethical standards are required, along with enthusiasm for the mission of Centre College and Centre Athletics;
- Knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules and regulations, and a demonstrated ability to successfully recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes are essential;
- Additional qualifications include communication skills that allow for the ability to teach, motivate, and counsel student-athletes effectively as well as being self-motivated, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and a willingness to travel.
- Ability to foster a team environment as well as the ability and desire to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department is essential.

Physical Requirements:
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling up to 50 pounds.
- Standing and or walking for more than four hours per day.
- Ability to drive a car.
- Visual acuity to view a screen.
