Job Summary

The Housed Substitute position is an entry-level part-time position that provides coverage for staff absences or position vacancies for the classroom, kitchen, or custodial positions at Head Start Centers located in the community. This position is funded to work 4 hours per day Monday through Friday; however, could work up to 8 hours per day depending upon agency need. The Housed Substitute has a “home” center; however, could be placed in short-term (less than 10 days) or long-term (10 days or more) assignments at other locations depending upon agency need. The ideal candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule with limited advance notice. This position requires the applicant to be able to report to and from different centers within the community. The Housed Substitute position requires strong communication skills, ability to adjust to different circumstances, willingness to report to different supervisors, and good attendance.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Must be 18 years of age. 
• High School Diploma OR GED 
• Read, write, and speak English. 
• Submit a current AZ Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to start date.
