Overview
Position Summary:-The primary job function is to manage the Homeowners, Umbrella and Dwelling Fire underwriting units to minimize expenses on the combined loss ratio and increase profitability.Geo-Salary Information
State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:
$98,699 to $182,896 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)
$89,727 to $166,269 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)
$80,754 to $149,642 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)
The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:-Plan and direct activities of the Homeowners/Package underwriting unit. Accountable for the overall operational effectiveness of the business unit including compliance and maintaining relationships with agents, brokers and insured-Manage unit staff including hiring, training, development and coaching -Review large and most complex applications for coverage and authorize exceptions to established guidelines; Determine appropriate situations for using reinsurance placement-Receive and review all complaints and prepare appropriate responses to the Department of Insurance and the customer-Review and update policies/procedures; Partner with other departments to create and update U/W and Agency Manual
Position is remote but must be able to align with work hours of Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm PST
Qualifications
Education:• Bachelor’s degree required in Business or related field• CPCU preferredExperience:• 5-7 years underwriting experience or equivalent combination of education/experience• 3+ years managerial experience
Experience with multiple personal lines preferred
