Central Transport, LLC, a leader in LTL (less-than-truckload) transportation for more than 90 years is currently seeking an Accountant for our Corporate Office in Warren, MI. If you are a detail oriented, dedicated individual that thrives in a fast paced environment this is the opportunity for you!

Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting
• 2 years of experience required. At least 2 years of proven experience in accounting or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, audit, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office; MS Word, MS Excel
• Experience using Great Plains (preferred)
• Dependable, Inquisitive, Detail-Oriented, Analytical, Organized, Trustworthy and Ethical

Responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing, validation and processing of invoices and corresponding with vendors
• Analyzing and reconciling monthly statements and transactions
• Intercompany billing
• Verifying and processing check requests
• Creating weekly and monthly reports
• Miscellaneous cash accounting
• Assisting in the implementation of new financial systems
• Performing account reconciliations
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements
