Role Description:
We’re hiring a Business Development Representative to identify an expert to lead our supplier engagement and outreach program. You’ll be focused on outreach to the supplier base – helping them learn more about Valdera, inspiring excitement to participate, and ensuring we have strong reach.
Suppliers play a critical role at Valdera. When a buyer launches a request, they expect high-quality quotes when using Valdera. That quality is dependent on suppliers understanding the request, but also on the suppliers understanding of how they can Valdera to deliver the best outcomes for their business – completing their profiles to ensure the best request matches come to them, driving transparency in their bid, and ensuring continued engagement after the quote. Therefore, outreach and engagement with our suppliers is paramount to Valdera’s success.
You’ll be driving this program from the ground up with regular exposure to senior leadership. You’ll be excited about driving continuous improvement and outcomes for this program, and you’ll have the skills to navigate ambiguity as you shape the future.

Role Responsibilities:
- Own and execute a structured supplier outreach strategy, taking into account different supplier profiles and organizational goals to ensure success
- Review and analyze supplier data to identify the correct supplier outreach strategy
- Conduct engaging product demos and pitches both virtually and in-person (e.g., supplier on-sites, conferences)
- Meticulously track supplier interactions: take thorough notes, communicate highlights, and mark follow-ups
- Serve as a primary point of contact for supplier inquiries, escalations, and feedback
- Listen to supplier praises and challenges, and track them effectively, so that main themes from our suppliers are understood throughout the organization to drive improvement
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success (e.g., breadth of supplier reached, new sign-ups, completed profiles, etc.)
- Show a commitment to putting in the necessary time and effort to exceed expectations and achieve ambitious startup goals
- Adapt to global time zones to support customer needs and urgent internal priorities
Experience & Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in business operations, consulting, strategy, or related role across software, procurement, and/or supply chain & operations industries
- Track record of owning relationships with large enterprise customers and business leaders
- Strong analytical skills and ability to concisely present and make recommendations based on the data analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in presenting and influencing stakeholders
- Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of projects and adapt to shifting prioritiesAbility to work collaboratively across all Valdera functions (e.g., sales, operations, product, engineering)
- Has quickly learned new skills, tools, and software (e.g. GSuite, Figma, Notion, Microsoft Office etc.)
- Capable of creating structured plans and managing multiple priorities effectively
- Willingness to travel occasionally when the job requires
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the procurement function and / or the chemical & raw material industry
- Educational background in business, supply chain, engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field
