Overview

The Senior Manager S&OP will own all activities related to creating and maintaining the demand plan for a subregion. They will manage a multi-state planning team dedicated to forecasting activities. This role will be the Supply Chain conduit with the state, region and corporate commercial leaders for that division and tasked with aligning to the commercial plan while preserving the national planning strategy. This position requires strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills working cross-functionally, people management skills, ability to influence at multiple leadership levels and ensures there is open communication between Regional Leadership, Local GMs and other Divisional Leadership. The role will report to the Regional Director, Sales & Operations Planning.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning process for multiple suppliers and or categories across multiple states
  • Manage and lead a team of Planner’s across different areas of the Region
  • Adapt quickly to new forecasting approaches utilizing an agile approach for continuous improvements
  • Identify and correct exceptions and anomalies in the statistical forecast that may impact accuracy; choose and apply the appropriate forecasting algorithms and parameters in accordance with regional/national policies; proactively collaborate with Commercial counterparts on forecasting demand for new items and addressing exceptions
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Analyze actual demand and emerging trends in comparison to forecasts
  • Responsible for supporting the S&OP Director for the overall execution of demand planning activities in assigned state(s) – jointly responsible with Regional commercial team for demand forecast accuracy at the state level
  • Prepare and monitor forecast KPI's on a monthly and quarterly basis, taking corrective actions and/or identifying coaching opportunities to further develop the team
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial team through excellent listening and communication skills to ensure an effective demand forecasting process

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate with supply planning to provide information on daily/ weekly changes to demand.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to implement process improvements
  • Manage the on-boarding and assist with the training of select State Planners related to Blue Yonder functionality and use
  • Effectively manage workload distribution and scheduling to maximize resources for maximum performance
  • Coordinate and facilitate select Regional S&OP Demand Reviews where implemented
  • Assist with corporate purchase requests and monitor adherence to the established process
  • Review planner’s narratives each month and incorporate into a state forecast recap
  • Leverages best practices with other sites to further shape and improve the Sales & Operations Planning business processes
  • Problem solving on Commercial and cross functional issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (technical field preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Operations, Business Planning or Statistical Modelling
  • Lead/Manage SGWS team for at least 3 years with Fully Meets or above Performance Rating
  • Proficient in building and sustaining effective collaborative relationships
  • Knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain concepts and methods and understanding of interdependencies between demand, supply, and operati
