SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As a Global Category Manager for Blade Coatings, your main role is to ensure the growth and profitability of the assigned category. You will achieve it by managing and expanding the existing portfolio and identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities which create value for both customers and Jotun. You will be expected to coordinate and drive cross-functional teams in target markets to develop Jotun’s presence, position and product offering in new markets. You will define innovation needs based on customer drivers and initiate and lead innovation projects as a Project Manager to meet current and future needs.Based on the business plan, you will assess the product needs of fabricators and OEMs and collaborate with the global and local team in target markets to develop and grow the blade coating business.
Position information
This position is preferably located in Jotun’s headquarter in Sandefjord, but local Jotun offices in key European market may be considered. Extensive travelling is to be expected to be present in key markets. You will report to the Global Category Director in Steel Protection and work as part of a team of 6 Category Managers.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and develop the assigned Category through in-depth insight into the current and potential applications and uses of the products, strategically and tactically positioning them, and closely managing the category profitability. This will help strengthen Jotun's brand as the preferred supplier and drive profitable growth.
• Coordinate a cross-functional team to ensure that Jotun can offer relevant and competitive product solutions to target market customers.
• Ensure that the product portfolio is relevant and fit for purpose by managing the global assortment and offering guidelines, tools, and methods for positioning regional and local diversity to ensure that we can meet customers’ needs and expectations.
• Project Manager for selected innovation projects and collaborated with regional marketing, sales, R&D, TSS, and other relevant stakeholders throughout the innovation project.
• Ensure that Products in Service are maintained and consistent by monitoring use, feedback, positioning, and profitability in the market to ensure an expected return on investment, quality standards, and brand recognition.
• Govern and support regional activity by working closely with regional sales and marketing networks to ensure the sharing of best practices and synergies across markets.
• Support network with product knowledge and product training.

Extensive experience in blade coatings and its application, but extensive internal experience can also be relevant.
Experience in cross-functional and cross-regional team collaborations.
Experience with product management, positioning, and value-based pricing.
Project management skills
Strategic thinking and analytical skills
Skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal qualities and cultural awareness.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Fluent in English, with other language skills being beneficial.
Skilled in and used to commonly used Microsoft applications such as TEAMS, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Additional IT skills are beneficial.
