About The Role & Team

We are looking for a senior leader who can help Amplitude to scale and grow to a $1B+ company by shaping a high performing business systems team. We are looking for someone with a track record of thriving in multi-faceted leadership roles.

As the Director of Enterprise Technology, you can expect to:

  • Be responsible for leading the Enterprise Technology and Architecture teams that partner with our G&A functions (such as, finance, accounting, procurement, legal, and HR) as well as our GTM center of excellence. 
  • Partner with leaders across the business, from executive business partners to peers across the business
  • Shape the next chapter of Corporate Engineering’s evolution into a technical team that’s remarkable at engineering and delivering large, end-to-end business processes
  • Work on solving scaling and efficiency challenges across Amplitude’s G&A teams
  • Focus on long term agility and velocity to set ourselves up for success in 2026 and beyond
  • Empower the team to succeed by:
    • Over-communicating our mission and vision
    • Setting expectations and defining what success looks like
    • Coaching and developing employees
    • Framing problems in the right light
    • Cultivating a psychologically safe and inclusive team culture
  • Partner with the Business Technology leadership team to steer our work and maximize our impact on Amplitude
  • Translate customer business goals into best-in-class technology solutions, define automation roadmap based on business use cases, and oversee SaaS implementations through the use of market relevant tools and technologies
  • Define systems integrations, design patterns and development standards to support cross-functional, multi-system solutions that are scalable and flexible to meet current and future needs of the organization
  • Build an effective Integrations & Intelligent Automations organization
  • Identifies and communicates associated risk to all stakeholders
  • Perform architecture reviews and capability assessments on the current enterprise landscape; provide recommendations for application modernization, portfolio optimization, and execute approved projects
  • Keep track of best practices, trends and advancements including AI and RPA and find ways to lay the foundation for use at Amplitude
  • Be an active voice in build vs. buy decisions

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:

    • Strong, demonstrable experience leading systems or technical teams through the phases of growth we’re getting ready to face
    • Around 15 years of IT experience in delivering enterprise complex systems implementations and integrations
    • Hands-on technical leader with 4+ years mentorship, supervisory or management experience
    • Operationalized a strategy and guardrails for managing large, complex systems environments
    • Extensive experience working with and being accountable to executive partners and stakeholders
    • Deep and broad subject matter expertise across various facets of Business Technology / Process Engineering / Product Development / Data & Analytics. 
    • Extensive experience with project execution; architecture framework (e.g. BOST, TOGAF, etc.).
    • Expert knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS (Workday, NetSuite, Workato, Mulesoft etc.), Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), APIs, RPA, microservices, event driven architecture
    • Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment and a strong sense of accountability as well as a proven track record of driving results through indirect influence.
